About Us

Who we are

Liberty Experience e.V. is a non-profit organization in Munich which fosters community integration with focus on helping international immigrants succeed with their musical talents in Germany.

Liberty Experience provides relaxed, social, and safe platforms for musical learning and collaborations among immigrants thereby empowering their skills. We offer trainings, platforms and networking opportunities which exposes our members to opportunities in the mainstream music industry in Germany.

Liberty Experience also manages a gospel music band as a platform for our members to showcase their talents be it in concerts, workshops or participating in musical and cultural events. At each of our events, we aim to help our audience experience peace of mind, a sense of liberty through our urban contemporary gospel music. Our events have facilitated true sense of inner joy and liberty for our audiences.

How we started

The project started when a passionate musician from Nigeria – Kehinde Fawumi decided to have a spontaneous gospel music evening with his friends in October 2017. The beautiful experience from the event encouraged the continuity of the project. Thus the group continued organizing gospel events such as musical concerts, christmas music festival, new year’s eve concerts etc. The events were organized with a core purpose to promote gospel music and to create an atmosphere where people can genuinely feel joyful and relieve emotional pains – hence the name Liberty Experience. Since its inception, Liberty Experience has held about 10 concerts and participated in many musical events around Munich.

In 2018 Liberty Experience team grew bigger reaching up to 25 musicians and by december of 2018, the group hosted about 500 people at a new year’s eve concert. At this time, the core team felt the urge to expand the impact of the project and thus evolved the group’s vision as using music as a tool to foster intercultural awareness and integration of immigrants in Germany. Liberty Experience e.V. was then registered as a Verein in March 2019.

Our Principles

Equal Rights & Access

We believe in accordance to Article 27 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR): “Everyone has the right to participate freely in the cultural life of the community, to enjoy the arts and to participate in scientific progress and achievements”.

For us, this is reflected in treating both locals and immigrants equally and having them represented at all our events.

We believe trust is the glue that holds people and organizations together. Trust is a core part of everything we do

Faith in People

We believe assets make things possible but people make things happen!

Our philosophy is described in this statement: “Don’t just smell the smoke…follow the smoke and find the boy who lost everything in the fire to see if you can save him .. or better, find the boy who lit the fire in the first instance to see if you can change him”
